What is this crypto converter?
A free tool for converting between cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum and everyday currencies like USD, GBP, and EUR — or between two coins directly. Useful for checking what your holdings are worth, sizing a trade, or just satisfying curiosity about today's prices.
How are the prices sourced?
When you're online, Convertly pulls live crypto prices and shows a live badge. If a
connection isn't available, it falls back to a recent stored snapshot and shows an
estimate badge instead. Crypto markets move fast and trade continuously, so treat any
figure as a moment-in-time reference rather than an exact quote — always check your exchange or
wallet before actually trading.
How to use it
- Type the amount you want to convert.
- Choose the coin or currency you're converting from.
- Choose what you want to see it as — another coin or a currency.
- Hit the round ⇄ button to flip the pair, or tap a popular shortcut.
Good to know
The price you see here is a market reference, not what you would actually pay. Exchanges add a trading fee on top, and the spread — the gap between the buy and sell price — widens on smaller coins and during volatile periods. On a thinly traded token that spread can cost more than the fee itself.
Two other things worth remembering. Converting between two coins here goes via a USD value behind the scenes, so the rate reflects both legs of that journey rather than a direct pair quoted on an exchange. And network fees for actually moving crypto are separate again, charged by the blockchain rather than by any exchange — they vary with network congestion and are not included in any figure on this page.

Frequently asked questions
Live prices are pulled from CoinGecko's public market API, and live fiat exchange rates come from a separate open exchange-rate API. If either can't be reached, the tool falls back to a recent stored snapshot and marks the result as an offline estimate rather than pretending it's live.
Cryptocurrency markets trade 24 hours a day with no central exchange or closing time, so prices can move noticeably within minutes. Traditional currency (fiat) exchange rates are generally far less volatile day to day, which is why crypto conversions carry a live/estimate badge that currency conversions don't need as urgently.
Yes — pick any coin as the "from" and any other coin as the "to." The tool converts both into a common USD value behind the scenes and shows you the resulting rate, so ETH → BTC works the same way as BTC → USD.
No. This is a reference/price-lookup tool only — it doesn't hold funds, execute trades, or connect to any exchange account. Always confirm the exact price on your own exchange or wallet before making a real transaction.
Different exchanges and data providers can show slightly different prices at the same moment due to their own order books and update frequency. Treat the figure here as a close, general reference rather than the exact fill price you'd get on a specific platform.
About & privacy
This is a reference tool only — not a broker, exchange, or wallet, and we never hold or move any assets. Figures shown are not a quote or an offer to trade. It's one of Convertly's free, ad-supported reference tools; see the full privacy policy for how data is handled.
