What is this currency converter?
Convertly is a free online tool for converting money between currencies. Whether you’re planning a trip, shopping on an overseas store, paying an international invoice, or just curious what your savings are worth abroad, it gives you a clean answer in one step. There are no pop-ups, accounts, or paywalls — just an amount, two currencies, and the number you came for.
How are the rates calculated?
Conversions use the mid-market rate — the midpoint between the global buy and sell prices
of a currency, and the fairest reference rate available. When you’re online, Convertly pulls the
latest published rates automatically and shows a live badge. If a connection isn’t
available, it falls back to a recent stored snapshot and shows an estimate badge instead.
Banks, cards, and money-transfer services usually add a margin on top of the mid-market rate, so the amount you actually receive can differ slightly. Use this number as your honest baseline when comparing offers.
How to use it
- Type the amount you want to convert in the top box.
- Choose the currency you’re converting from on the left.
- Choose the currency you want to see on the right.
- Hit the round ⇄ button any time to flip the two currencies instantly.
- Press Convert — or just tap one of the popular pairs to jump straight to a common conversion.
Good to know
Example: with 1 USD selected against the Euro, you’ll see roughly 0.92 EUR,
and the line above tells you exactly what one unit is worth so you can sanity-check the result.
Rates move throughout the day, so a figure pulled this morning may shift by the afternoon — convert
again whenever you need the freshest number.

Frequently asked questions
The mid-market rate is the midpoint between the global buy and sell prices for a currency pair — the rate banks use to trade with each other, before any markup. It's the fairest, most neutral reference rate available, which is why this tool uses it as the baseline for every conversion.
Banks, card networks, and money-transfer services almost always add a margin on top of the mid-market rate, sometimes alongside a flat fee. This tool shows the honest mid-market baseline so you can see exactly how much extra you're being charged when you compare it to your bank's quoted rate.
Rates move continuously throughout the trading day as currency markets react to news and trading activity. When you're online, this tool pulls the latest published rate and shows a live badge; if a connection isn't available, it falls back to a recent stored snapshot and marks the result as an estimate instead.
This tool is a reference calculator only — it doesn't move, hold, or exchange money. Use it to sanity-check the rate a bank, card, or transfer service is offering you, then complete the actual transaction through that provider.
Convertly covers 45+ major world currencies, including USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, and INR, alongside a broad range of other regional currencies. If you need one that isn't listed, let us know at info@firirigs.com and we'll look at adding it.
About & privacy
Convertly is an independent currency converter built to do one thing well: turn an amount in one currency into an honest figure in another, fast and without clutter. It’s aimed at travellers, online shoppers, freelancers invoicing across borders, and anyone who just wants a quick, trustworthy number — not a dashboard.
We’re not a bank, broker, or money-transfer service, and we never hold or move your money. The figures shown are reference rates only and aren’t a quote or an offer to exchange. The amounts and currencies you choose are never sent to or stored on our servers — the conversion runs in your browser. It’s one of Convertly’s free, ad-supported reference tools; see the full privacy policy for how data is handled. Spotted a rate that looks off, or want a currency added? Reach us at info@firirigs.com.
